Kaya School of Indian Dance is founded by Katya Tosheva in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2016. It promotes the rich dance culture of India, while building a comprehensive idea of the history, culture and art of the country. The main focus is the classical tradition – under the guidance of famous and internationally recognized teachers from India, three temple dances are studied – Odissi, Kathak and Bharatanatyam. A diverse palette of folk dances and Bollywood are also studied. Kaya students are regular performers at events organized by the Embassy of the Republic of India in Bulgaria, as well as at numerous festivals related to Indian culture in Bulgaria and abroad. Many of Kaya’s students are also students of Indology department, following Katya’s encouragement Last two years students of Kaya has visited India in study tours and has participated in various of events, showcasing the Bulgarian folklore
